Summer Fun!!

I have to admit, I really love having the summer off! I know i know, that is probably the one thing most criticized about being a teacher, is that people do it just to have the summer off. Well, although that is NOT the only reason i became a teacher, it is definitely a bonus. I have been able to go camping a few times with my family, and mikel's family. I have been able to enjoy the sun, gone swimming, seen old friends. I just can't get enough of being busy, and having fun. The one thing i definitely haven't gotten to do yet that i am waiting for is SLEEPING IN!!! I have been in class all week learning new things, developing a better teaching philosophy. Which has been really fun actually, but has not worked towards my sleeping in project!! I feel like i just keep running and running and never slow down, whether it be during the school year or the summer I always seem to have plans. I am kind of looking forward to a day that when maybe, just maybe i won't have any plans. No where to go, no one to see, no errands to run! Ha just a boring old day at home to relax!! HA in my dreams, i don't foresee that coming anytime soon. But hey, a girl can hope right? I think that is something i have always done, planned ahead. I LOVE hanging out with people and seeing people, but sorry sometimes you do have to plan it before to make sure i block off that time. But then i am golden i will be there! I have been lucky to have a lot of friends that i want to spend time with lately, Practically every night i have somewhere to go, whether it is helping someone, babysitting for someone, visiting an old friend, visiting family, birthdays, there is always something going on.

It also makes me stop and realize. Life is good. I have been so blessed with amazing people in my life and amazing experiences!! Time flies by too fast, and too many awesome experiences have come and gone in the blink of an eye. Like my Master's Degree. I am sure going to miss those guys that i have been in a cohort with for the last two years. They really have become my friends and colleagues. I hate when good things come to an end. But that also just means i have to start a new adventure!... I just have to figure out what my next endeavor will be.

CATCH UP THURSDAY!!!

Well it says something about life when you run out of time to blog!! HAHA What is this world coming to!!! Just kidding. It has been a busy first 3 weeks of third grade though! I am lucky to leave work by 5:30 *(When i should be leaving at 4) and on top of that my crazy intense Master's class!! Seriously who wants to write a 35 page paper for me!?!? Anyone? ANYONE? But I have resorted to posting yet again a slide show of pictures, so at least those who have fast enough internet can catch up on what i have been up to! There are pictures of Thanksgiving point, and swimming, the zoo... and who knows what else =) I have some funny school pictures too, but i wont post them here obviously! BUT Can you believe all of the babies at the zoo!? Britt got a family pass to the zoo and i paid to join them on it, so we have been there a few times this summer! I can't believe all the cute babies! I personally am ecstatic about the tiger babies!!! I love tigers! Ade is excited about the elephant baby! We went to vote on her name, and one of the options is AISHA, which is much like ALISHA, and Ade knows how to spell my name, so she proceeded to say, "LOOK!! they want to name the baby elephant ALISHA! lets vote for that one!" I had to explain they were NOT naming the elephant after me... flattering as it would be. YIKES!

I can't believe how times flies! Today was my niece Ade's FIRST DAY OF KINDERGARTEN!!! Can you believe it! Those of you who know me know i love her like crazy so it was a big day for me too!! She loved it and apparently did great! And no tears from her or her parents.... GOSH i guess that leaves me to cry!!! She is all grown up and going to school!!! I love it! SO i am adding a pic of her just before leaving for school! She is so cute! (** I stole the pic from Britt)

Also this last week Daija was in town and the girls and I got together for dinner! This was the first time we have ever brought the guys. It was a blast! Full of catching up, funny moments, like the bench breaking! And yard games, it was a pretty intense gave of boys against girls Bocce! I love those girls it was SO fun to get together again! Some of them i have known sense ELEMENTARY school!!! Yikes! We are getting old!!

Suzanne's Wedding, New Bunny, Rodeo and Summer of fun!!!

Ok so i am lame! I haven't updated in forever. So the first thing i want to report is Tonight I went to Suzanne's Wedding. She looked SO amazing. I am so happy for her and James. It was a beautiful outdoor reception with people i love!!!!

Second thing I want to report is I got a new bunny!! Her name is Bella. And she is going to be my new class pet. I am switching to third grade this year, and have never had a pet. I was reading a book awhile ago called "32 third graders and one class bunny." It was then that i decided i should get a bunny! Lucky for me Kristen's rabbits had bunnies and she offered to give me one!!! I am already attached to her, and it has been a lot of fun!!

Last but not least, Heather and Isaac invited us to go to the Rodeo this week. It was so much fun! Mikel talked me into getting a cowboy hat! Yikes! I have never owned a cowboy hat in my life. We both bought one, so we could really be in the spirit. It was fun. Heather and Isaac borrowed our hats so they could be "Real Cowboys too!" I am glad we got to go with them!!

So Far this summer has been fun! I have finished two of my Master's classes, which means only 3 more to go until i am totally finished with my Master's in Education!!! I am so excited. Other than that i have just been having fun, working hard and getting ready for school to start! Lucky for me i am D track which means they all go back to school on Monday!!! And i get the first 3 weeks off!!!! THANK GOODNESS for more time off!!!! I love sunshine and sleep!!

Super weekend full of.... school? Yikes!

Ok so i am taking classes for my masters degree, and seriously what an awesome weekend of class! Yuck! I have class every other weekend Friday nights and all day Saturday. What an awesome way to spend my weekend. But the other weekends aren't too exciting either. I will just be glad when i have made it through and gotten to the end. My classes are fun and beneficial, dont get me wrong it's just lame that i have nothing better to do.

And my mom is back in the hospital with pneumonia. It is sad how sick she gets so often. And my dad is in Reno for his regional baseball meeting, so I am doing what i can to help out.

I am still living the up and down roller coaster of my relationship.... Not strong enough to jump either way. And i feel like life is just kind of standing still. I hope that i will find light again soon and make progress instead of standing at a stand still...

Other than that i am dreading my birthday this week. I will be 25 and only getting older! Maybe i will write again telling you all how old and lame i am hahaha. That would be exciting! I am not really doing much for my birthday. Maybe i will go visit my sister, seeing as it is her birthday too!!

Anyway another lame day to check off the calendar.

YOURS TRULY,
WAITING FOR AN ADVENTURE

Long Weekend!!

I am excited to have a long weekend! We get Monday off from school, and can i tell you how awesome that is? My college classes started this week for my Masters Degree. I am about half way through it now, well almost... If i carry on at this rate i will be done May 2009 so just over a year! It has taken me longer than i thought it would because I am working full time at the same time which is fine, but last year i decided to get my ESL endorsement and then this year i am working on my Math endorsement all while i am working on my Masters of ED... So it's been busy! And it has slowed down the process since i added more classes to my load then i expected. I just couldn't pick one endorsement or program so i did two endorsements before i finish my masters!

On top of that i am sick again....or should i say still? Just when i thought i was actually feeling better!!! However, My kidney infection is getting better! Which is super good news! Looks like the antibiotics are doing their job! But on top of that now i have a cold... which is no fun at all! And the other night i was throwing up too, so maybe it is the flu again, but i had the flu just after new years, before my kidney drama so i wouldn't think it was that but who knows! Needless to say not feeling awesome and having class three nights in a row (and ALL day Saturday) after working all week totally wears ya out! But I am doing good and still moving along! At least i go off track soon so hopefully i will feel better by then so i can bounce back from all of this craziness!

ANOTHER YEAR ALMOST OVER.....

Ok so time is just flying by. I can't believe it is almost Christmas again. I am officially half way through teaching another school year and on to another semester of master classes. I can't believe how fast time goes by and how much happens in a year. Life is truly like a roller coaster, it is continuous ups and downs. Sometimes i am not too sure i am enjoying the ride... Other times it surprises me with what comes. I just wish i had more of a target for where i was headed. I am getting older and not really going anywhere. But i guess my goal is to just keep hanging in there and hope that life takes me somewhere great. It is so weird to see how many relationships change in a year, how many friends come and go and how families change. It's like each day is really something new. Hopefully this year is full or more ups, and more hints as to my future goals. Hopefully i try harder to stay positive and to regain some of my hope that i have lost. I hope it brings new friends and stronger relationships, and strength for when the hard times come, because i know there will be some of those too. What goes up must come down, i just have to remember it will eventually go up again!!

I hope everyone enjoys the holiday season. I have to be honest, the holidays aren't as exciting when you get old, and when you don't have kids to share the fun with... But I do have one thing to look forward to... WINTER BREAK!!! Which means vacation for me! Yahoo!!
